Facility and Compliance Tracking System (FACTS)

Client: Office of the State Fire Marshal

In 2008, MSF&W was awarded a contract by the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal to develop the Facility and Compliance Tracking System. The system is a complement to the Underground Storage Tank System (UST). FACTS provides access to the UST database to Storage Tank Safety Specialists (STSS) in the field and allows them to enter their paper forms into an electronic system. The system is a .NET/SQL Server application using Microsoft InfoPath for the forms.

The major system functions include:

• STSS Calendar and Daily Tasks View
• Lists of Actionable Facilities
• Capture and Entry of STSS Forms
• Automated Processing of STSS Forms
• Search and View access to the UST database

Since the implementation of FACTS, the form entry backlog of the Division of Petroleum and Chemical Safety has been eliminated. Inspector forms are processed into the UST database daily as they come in. The quality of the data has improved by eliminating the re-keying of data.
