Laserfiche Imaging Project

Client: Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation

The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation hired MSF&W to work on the Laserfiche-based imaging system for the agency. The imaging system will be integrated with the scanned check images from a Unisys/OPEX remittance processing system, then interfaced with the department’s professional database. This will allow all professional license applications and renewal forms that previously were submitted through a paper process to be handled electronically. The scanned images will provide all of the data necessary and will be attached to the licensing record using the combination of the Laserfiche Imaging system and the professional database. The MSF&W consultant developed a VB.NET application to copy the images from the Unisys system into Laserfiche.

In addition, a Record Management add-in has been implemented. This involved converting the original document folder structure into one that would include record retention. The document structure was re-organized to utilize a retention schedule. The conversion application was written in VB.NET and incorporated the Laserfiche Toolkit.
